Alumina-Based Tundish Nozzle for Continuous Casting

An alumina-based tundish nozzle uses an Al₂O₃ outer body to hold the zirconia insert and to seat in the tundish. On the NUOHENG tundish nozzle TDS the outer body typical values are Al₂O₃ 75%, Fe₂O₃ 1.2%, SiO₂ 15%, bulk density 2.85 g/cm³ and apparent porosity 18%.

Those cells describe the outside. They do not describe the insert. The insert typical on the same TDS is a zirconia line, and the dedicated insert specification is another document again.

For continuous casting, send the bore and the drawing of the outer profile. Mills in Europe, the United States and Brazil usually replace a known nozzle rather than redesign the well.
